Roadrunner Records group, King 810, have released a new track titled “We Gotta Help Ourselves,” which takes aim at the current water crisis in their hometown of Flint, Michigan. Furthermore, the band has partnered with local Flint outlet Savage Village to create a unique T-shirt design to be sold in support of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s ‘Flint Child Health & Development Fund.’ 100% of the proceeds from T-shirt sales will go directly to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. Vocalist David Gunn commented, “We chose to work with the Flint Child Health & Development Fund because we believe children are the most important people in the equation. They’re also affected the most by what’s going on. Aside from the urgent need for clean water, it’s important to focus on the long term effects that could come as a result to this exposure, so that’s our main focus here.”
The needs of Flint children exposed to lead, particularly those most vulnerable- children ages 0 – 6 years old – are ongoing and long-term. A donation to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund will be used for critical interventions today and well into the future.
